How you will learn

The LPMC has three components:

1. ONLINE PRE-READINGS

You’ll prepare for the course and upcoming workshop by completing the readings and preliminary activities for each module. The preliminary activities allow you to assess your current skills and knowledge. You can access the reading materials on any device at any time.

2. 3-DAY WORKSHOP

During the workshop, you’ll engage in practical exercises with industry experts. You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with other legal professionals. You will attend three full-day online workshops over one week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday).

3. ASSESSMENT

At the end of the workshop, you will have two weeks to complete a self-paced online assessment. This will help you to feel confident that you have developed the expertise to excel in the management of a legal practice.

To assist you in the next stage of your career, you can continue to access the College resources for a further 12 months after you complete the course. These course resources include:

  • Downloadable reading guides & course materials
  • Digital learning activities and online modules
  • Practical assessments
  • Resource library and reference material (including business templates and FAQ guides)

Accreditation

If you want to remove Condition 3 from your practising certificate, or become a law practice principal, the Law Society of NSW requires you to complete a Practice Management Course. The College’s Legal Practice Management Course is designed to meet these requirements.
